Scope of Service

     The Gastrointestinal System and Liver Center at Thonburi Thawi Watthana Hospital provides diagnostic and treatment services for disorders of the digestive system, liver, biliary tract, and pancreas. Services are provided by specialist gastroenterologists and utilizing advanced diagnostic technology for accurate results, ensuring patients receive appropriate, safe, and effective care.

Services include:

1. Consultation and assessment of digestive system and liver disorders by specialist physicians.

2. Diagnosis and treatment of various digestive and liver diseases, such as:

  • Gastritis 1. Esophageal cancer / Colon cancer / Liver cancer
  • All types of viral hepatitis
  • Cirrhosis from various causes, including alcoholism
  • Fatty liver
  • Pancreatitis
  • Diarrhea / Abnormal bowel movements / Chronic constipation
  • Gallstones

3. Providing advice on screening for gastrointestinal cancers such as stomach, colon, liver, biliary tract, and pancreas.

Services of the Gastrointestinal and Liver Center:

1. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

Can be used to diagnose and treat biliary tract diseases such as:

  • Bile duct cancer
  • Bile duct obstruction
  • Bile duct stone obstruction

2. Gastrointestinal Endoscopy

2.1 Gastroscopy

Endoscopic examination of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum to check for abnormalities in the digestive tract, including:

  • Helicobacter Pylori testing
  • Gastric ulcer testing

2.2 Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy To evaluate the intestinal lining and intestinal wall, and detect abnormalities such as:

  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Colon cancer
  • Intestinal polyps

2.3 Sigmoidoscopy

Coloscopy is suitable for screening abnormalities in the early stages.

2.4 Polypectomy

Biopsy of abnormal polyps or tissue in the digestive tract to prevent future colon cancer.

2.5 PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)

Endoscopic feeding tube insertion, without open abdominal surgery, helps patients who cannot eat or have difficulty swallowing.
